STEP 1:
Go to the wireless networking icon in the system tray and select “
View Available Wireless Networks.”
STEP 2:
You should see
“MASON-SECURE” and other wireless networks on the display. If "MASON-SECURE" is not in range,you may continue anyway but will not be able to connect once completed.
STEP 3:
In the “Related
Tasks” section on the left, select “Change Advanced Settings” or "Change the order of preferred networks."
STEP 4:
Click on the “Wireless Networks” tab on the top.
STEP 5:
Select
"MASON SECURE" from the "Preferred Networks field," then click on Properties. If "MASON-SECURE" is not present, follow the instructions below to add.
STEP 6:
Make sure the Network Authentication field is set to "WPA2."
Then click on the "Authentication" tab at the top of the page.
STEP 7:
Select “Protected
EAP (PEAP)” as the EAP type.
Then click on the “Properties” button.
Step 8:
In the list of “Trusted Root Certification Authorities,” check the box next
to “AddTrust External CA Root” to enable this as a Trusted Root Certification Authority. If the “AddTrust External CA Root” is not present, you can download it here. Set the "Select Authentication Method" field to "Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)." Click on the "Configure" button.
STEP 9:
Uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" field.
If you use your MESA account to access the wired or wireless network you can leave this box checked.
Click on "OK" twice.
Step 10:
Right click on Wireless Network Connection icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks." Select "MASON-SECURE."
Step 11:
Enter your PatriotPass username and password. Leave the
Logon domain field blank and click “OK.” Once you fill in your username and password, if you want to use the auto-connect feature, click on the "Save this user name and password for future use" check box.
You are now finished with configuration. Your system will automatically connect and Authenticate to MASON-SECURE when in range.
Adding Network Step 1:
Click on the "Add" button.
Adding Network Step 2 :
Type "MASON-SECURE" in the SSID Name field. Click on "Connect even if SSID is not broadcasting." Make sure that "Network Authentication" is set to "WPA2."
Then click "OK" This will return you to the screen shot in STEP 5.
